(1) The
treatment window of 700 - 900 degree-days is well established for
"stomach poison" types of control materials (i.e.;
Kryolite®, etc.) However, for IGR type materials (i.e.;
Confirm®, etc.) an earlier timing at about 500 degree-days may be
considered.

|
| Research work has shown that
the most effective time to control Omnivorous Leafrollers (OLR) is
between 700 to 900 degree-days after the first "biofix" date
for each generation. The first moth flight (biofix date) in the
spring usually occurs in mid March. The "treatment
windows" are based on the biofix dates for each generation. Using
the actual temperatures which have occurred to date, then assuming
normal temperatures, the optimum treatment windows for OLR are shown
above. |
