The majority of AgQuest's experience has evolved from working with production agriculture to maximize production while minimizing costs through careful planning and timely decision making. Proper planning and timing are an integral part in irrigation scheduling, fertility management, and pest management. This is done through weekly field observations and analysis of current information concerning available soil moisture, nutrient status, and insect populations. This information is reviewed with the client to help in planning for the next week.
Irrigation Scheduling
Our Irrigation Scheduling services are intended to help growers make the best irrigation decision for their crops consistent with the objectives. Irrigation Scheduling is accomplished through weekly field evaluations of soil moisture and crop growth stages, then processing this information using an evapo- transpiration (ET) model to project irrigation dates and amounts. To acquireweekly soil moisture data we use hand soil probing in field crops or instruments such as neutron probes in permanent crops.
Crop Fertilization
To assist in crop fertilization decisions, AgQuest uses a program of combining soil and plant tissue analysis to determine specific fertilizer needs and to monitor the uptake of nutrients. Sampling, analysis and recommendations are timed to meet the fertilization needs of each crop.
Pest Management
Through regular checking of crops, we identify insects and diseases which could adversely impact crop growth or production. AgQuest's staff of licensed Pest Control Advisors augmented by specialists when needed, applies the latest research in Integrated Pest Management
